We leveraged our years of design and manufacturing experience to create the perfect device for pharmaceutical and biotech companies looking to launch a combination product quickly and without requiring significant investments.

To achieve this, we focused on 2 key areas: Offering customers the best device features possible and matching it with a convenient business model.

At 13cm, Molly isn’t much bigger than a pre-filled syringe, but packs all the features and benefits expected from an autoinjector.

Simple 2-step Operation

Thanks to needle shield activation, the handling process of Molly only requires 2 simple steps: uncap and inject.

Integrated Safety Features

Molly has been designed so that the needle is completely hidden throughout the handling process. At no time is the needle exposed out of the body.

Minimized Investment

As our first ‘pre-configured’ injection product, Molly removes the need for individual investments in tooling, assembly or test equipment. All that’s required to kick-off a project is a minimal start-up fee. The device has been specifically designed for 2 piece linear final assembly using automation equipment designed and manufactured by SHL. Processing, labeling and packaging will be performed at SHL Pharma, our facility in Florida, USA with syringes provided by the customer.
Speed to Market

To maximize speed to market with Molly, simply provide us with the syringe samples and we will optimize the spring to match the drug viscosity and timing requirements. Further customization is available under a traditional development program, however this will increase the time it takes to get your product on the market.

A Greener Product

For years, SHL has been considering ways to improve the impact a disposable autoinjector has on the environment. By reducing the number of components and overall dimensions of Molly, we can minimize the use of plastic and maximize transportation efficiencies.

Using technologies such as hot-runner tooling in the manufacturing process also help us to eliminate any plastic waste. In addition, Molly will be assembled in our “Green” manufacturing plant in Florida, USA where a number of environmentally friendly construction techniques have been used.
